Her parents both came to England around Her father is a Hungarian Jewish immigrant, and her mother, from Vienna, was of Italian and Austrian Jewish heritage. Rachel has a sister, Minnie, a curator and photographer.
Rachel started modeling when she was 14, and began acting during her studies at Cambridge University. While there, she formed a theater company named "Talking Tongues", which won the Guardian Award, at the Edinburgh Festival, for its take on Neville Southall's "Washbag". Rachel Hannah Weisz (;[2] born 7 March )[note 1] is an English actress. Known for her roles in independent films and blockbusters, she has received several awards, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award.
Weisz began acting in stage and television productions in the early s, and made her rulle debut in Death Machine (). She won a Critics' Circle Theatre Award for her role in the revival of Noël Coward's play Design for Living, and went on to appear in the Donmar Warehouse production of Tennessee Williams' drama Suddenly Last Summer. Her bio breakthrough came with her starring role as Evelyn Carnahan in the Hollywood action films The Mummy () and The Mummy Returns ().[5] Weisz went on to star in several films of the s, including Enemy at the Gates (), About a Boy (), Runaway Jury (), Constantine (), T
