Lateef Femi Okunnu: A Legal Luminary
The life and achievements of Lateef Femi Okunnu, a legal luminary and a statesman as he turns 90 years old, are worthy of celebration, as he has made significant contributions to the development of Nigeria in various capacities.
Born on February 22, , in Lagos, Nigeria, Lateef Femi Okunnu attended the prestigious Kings College, Lagos, before studying law at the University of London. He was called to the English Bar on February 9 , and admitted to the Nigerian Bar on September 16 The young lawyer then began his legal career in Lagos and quickly rose to prominence, earning a reputation as a brilliant legal mind. He was engaged in private legal practice with Messrs. Remi Fani Kayode and Sowemimo Law Chamber and remained in practice save for the period of almost eight years when he was the Federal Commissioner for Works and Housing (May to December ). He resumed legal practice in January and founded the firm Femi Okunnu & Co soon after.

Alhaji Olufemi Okunnu – LLB (Lond), SAN CON
The Principal is a graduate of London University and Barrister – at – Law of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. He attended King’s College, Lagos (), and University College, London University, London (). He was called to the English Bar on 9th February and admitted to the Nigerian Bar on 16th September He has been in practice ever since, save for the period of almost eight years when he was the Federal Commissioner for Works and Housing (May to December ). He resumed legal practice in January , and soon thereafter in July founded the legal firm of Femi Okunnu & Co. He was in elevated to the coveted rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in recognition of his distinguished career at the Bar.
