Kings of Leon Tap Into Their Pentecostal Roots in New Documentary 'Talihina Sky'
By Eryn Sun, Christian Post Reporter
Poor Southern Pentecostal brothers to booze-loving rock n’ roll superstars?
The Kings of Leon are showing the public just how … all encompassing they are in their new documentary or “rockumenary” entitled “Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon” that will be screened at this year’s Tribeca spelfilm Festival.
Still a work-in-progress, the film follows the band’s strict Pentecostal upbringing beneath their evangelist father and worship leader mother to their fallout with faith and new lifestyle of drugs, sex, and rock n’ roll.

Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon (2011)
About
Unusual profile of the alterna/arena rock band focusing largely on their family background, particularly brothers Caleb, Jared, and Nathan Followill and their cousin Matthew's upbringing as tent-revival Pentecostalists, kaleidoscopically mixing footage of the Kings on tour, in the studio, and indulging copiously in drink and weed with scenes and interviews with their extended clan at an annual family reunion in backwoods Oklahoma.
