    Jan Tomáš "Miloš" Forman (; Czech: [ˈmɪloʃ ˈforman]; 18 February 1932 – 13 April 2018) was a Czech and American film director, screenwriter, actor, and professor who rose to fame in his native Czechoslovakia before emigrating to the United States in 1968.

    Family

    Milos Forman was born in 1932 into a teacher’s family in the small town of Caslav (Central Bohemian region). He was the youngest of three brothers. His father was a member of a resistance group against the Nazi occupation, and was arrested by the Gestapo when Milos was eight years old. Shortly afterwards, Forman’s mother was also arrested. This came about when a local grocery store owner named Havranek was arrested for not informing German officials about anti-Nazi leaflets that appeared in his store. When Havranek was interrogated he

    Miloš Forman (18 February 1932 – 13 April 2018) was a Czech-Americanmovie director, screenwriter, actor, and professor. He was an emigrant to the US from Czechoslovakia. He was born in Caslav. Two of his movies, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Amadeus won the Academy Award for Best Picture and are very famous. He also directed Hair and People vs. Larry Flynt. He won the Academy Award for Best Director twice.

    He became an American citizen in 1977. His full name was Jan Tomáš Forman.

    Forman died at a hospital in Danbury, Connecticut from a short-illness on 13 April 2018 at the age of 86.[1]
