    Georgia Lee, born Dulcie Rama Pitt, in Cairns, Queensland in 1921, was a jazz and blues singer of international renown who, in the 1950s was called ‘Melbourne’s Number One Female Singer’. Of Torres Strait Islander and Cloncurry Aboriginal descent, she was the first Indigenous artist to record a full album, and the first Australian to record one in stereo. Dulcie grew up in Cairns in a house surrounded by music of all sorts. Family gatherings were always an excuse to sing the songs of the islands, but the radio also introduced her to classical music, which she loved.     Ramer Lyra "Dulcie" Pitt, who performed as Georgia Lee (1921 – 2010) was an Australian jazz and blues singer and actress from Cairns. She is credited with being the first Indigenous Australian artist to record blues songs with her album, Georgia Lee Sings the Blues Down Under (1962).

    Georgia Lee was born as Ramer Lyra "Dulcie" Pitt on 22 February 1921, her father, Douglas Pitt jnr (ca. 1877–1926) was of Jamaican, Scottish and Loyalty Islander descent and her mother, Myra Kemple-Hopkin's heritage was Afghani, Australian Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Scottish.[1][2][3] Her father, a fisherman, was

    Georgia Lee (born 1976) is an American writer and director known for her 2006 film Red Doors. Lee has also written and directed episodes of The Expanse and The 100. She has also developed and serves as the showrunner for the Netflix series Partner Track based on the novel of the same name bygd Helen Wan.

    Early life and education

    Lee was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to immigrants from Taiwan. She was raised primarily in Waterford, Connecticut in the same house featured in her rulle Red Doors.[1] She has a younger sister, Kathy Shao-Lin Lee.

    Lee was ranked first in her senior year at Waterford High School.[2] She then attended Harvard University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry.[3] She took courses toward an MBA but did not complete the program.[4] After graduation, Lee worked for the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co
