Masud Rana (born 28 March 1979),[a] better known by the stage nameShakib Khan,[b] is a Bangladeshi actor, producer, businessman,[15]occasional singer, film organiser, and media personality who works in Bengali films.[16] He is widely regarded as one of the most popular and influential figures of all time in Bengali cinema with his career spanning about two decades and 250 films.[17] Referred to in the media as "Hero of Heroes", " King of Dhallywood", Khan has been the propeller of the contemporary film industry, Dhallywood and is the highest paid actor in Bangladesh and West Bengal.[18][19][20] He did his debut in 1999 in action romantic Ananta Bhalobasha,[21] and is the most successful actor of all time in Bengali cinema.[22]

Politics
[edit]When Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Member of Parliament for Bagerhat-3, resigned from parliament in April 2018 to run for mayor of Khulna,[3] Khan considered contesting the resulting by-election as an independent candidate. He decided against a run, however, and Habibun Nahar, Khaleque's wife, was elected unopposed.[2]
Khan sought the Awami League nomination for the seat in the December 2018 general election, but the party gave the nod to the incumbent.[4][5]

Abdur Razzak (23 January 1942 – 21 August 2017),[1][2] known as Razzak, was a Bangladeshi actor and film director.[3] He was dubbed Nayak Raj Razzak (King of Heroes), a term introduced by Ahmed Zaman Chowdhury, editor of the magazine Chitrali.[4] Razzak won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor five times for his roles in the films Ki Je Kori (1976), Ashikkhito (1978), Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo (1982), Chandranath (1984) and Jogajog (1988). He was awarded the Independence Day Award in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh.[4][5] He acted in more than 300 Bangladeshi and Indian Bengali and Urdu films and also directed 16 films. He is considered one of the greatest actors in Bangladeshi film industry.[6]
