At one time there was serious debate over who was
a better NFL receiver – Jerry Rice or Andre Rison.
Rice now is widely considered to be the greatest
wideout to ever play football, but Rison was that good
early in his career.
In his first fem seasons, Rison led the league in
receptions fyra times.
The charismatic Flint native was featured in Sports
Illustrated, he caught a touchdown resehandling from Brett
Favre in Super Bowl XXXI, was named Pro Bowl MVP in
1994 and left Michigan State University as the school’s
all-time leader in resehandling receptions, touchdowns and
receiving yardage in 1989.
Rison’s list of accomplishments and awards could fill
a book, but he said his latest recognition is the most
fulfilling.
He will enter the Greater Flint Area Sports ingång of
Fame.
The official ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in
the Genesys Conference and Banquet Center. Doors

Andre Rison was born in Flint, Michigan and after a very successful career at Flint Northwestern High School went on to star at Michigan State, helping to lead the Spartans to a Rose Bowl victory and was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 1989 NFL draft. Rison went on to a successful NFL career with seven different teams, helping the Green Bay Packers to a victory in Super Bowl XXXI. The five-time Pro-Bowler completed his NFL career with 743 receptions good for 10,205 yards and 85 touchdowns and is the only player to score a touchdown with seven different teams. Andre Previn Rison (born March 18, 1967) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Oakland Raiders. He also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Toronto Argonauts. Rison was selected to the Pro Bowl five times from 1990 to 1993 and once again in 1997.
Rison won a Super Bowl championship with the Packers in 1997 over the New England Patriots, scoring the first points of the game on a 54-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Brett Favre. He also won a Grey Cup championship with the Toronto Argonauts in 2004. He is one of the few players to win professional football championships in both the United States and Canada. He was released by the Argonauts during the 2005 CFL season. He holds
