Anderson was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Maxine Hazel (née Kallin), a model, and Klaydon Carl "Andy" Anderson, an environmental chemist and grew up in suburban Roseville. She attended the University of Minnesota. [2] As she says in her autobiography, My Life in High Heels, her father was originally going to name her "Leiloni", but then realized to his horror that when she got to her teen years it was liable to be twisted into "Lay Loni". So it was changed to just plain "Loni".

Celebrity Autobiography is heading to Broadway. The show, which features well-known performers reading from the autobiographies and memoirs of notable figures in Hollywood, will play three Monday night performances on Nov. 26, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 at New Yorks Marquis Theater.
The rotating cast includes Saturday Night Live veterans Alec Baldwin, Rachel Dratch and Cecily Strong. Matthew Broderick, Lewis Black, Mario Cantone, Michael Urie, Susan Lucci, Tony Danza, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel and Queer Eye stars Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness are also part of the ensemble, which will perform verbatim excerpts from an ever-changing selection of tell-alls.
